About this app
GiftThread is an Android app presented under the Rook & Button brand. This policy describes version 1.0.0-rc2, package com.rookandbutton.giftthread. It has no user-account service or advertisements.
The app does not send your saved records, device identifiers, or usage information to developer-operated servers. It contains no advertising or analytics integration.
Data used on your device
Recipient names, birthdays, interests, sizes, color preferences and notes; occasion dates and budgets; gift descriptions, links, variants, private notes, photos, prices and status; history, reminder settings, and app-lock preferences. The app uses these records to organize gift ideas and occasions, calculate budget totals, retain gift history, build selected shopping lists, and schedule optional reminders. Incoming shares create a reviewable draft. The app does not fetch saved links or scrape shopping pages.

Sharing and copies you choose
When you choose to share a shopping list, the app previews the selected output and excludes private gift notes and recipient-profile fields. Exported ZIP backups include your records and saved photos and are not encrypted. Opening a saved link launches a browser, whose own policy applies. Receiving apps, camera apps, browsers, and document providers operate under their own policies. A provider you select may synchronize files outside your device. This app does not control those independent copies.
Storage and security
App records are held in Android app-private storage. Automatic Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled. Protect your device with a secure screen lock and keep exported files in a location you trust. Ordinary backup files are not an encrypted vault.
Retention and deletion
Given and archived gifts remain in History. Archive a gift and explicitly confirm permanent deletion when you want to remove it. Clearing Android app storage or uninstalling removes private notebook data and copies of photos. Your original photos and separately exported or shared files must be managed separately.
Additional details
Photo imports create private copies and leave originals unchanged. Optional app lock asks Android to authenticate you with strong biometrics or the device credential; GiftThread does not receive fingerprint templates, face templates, or your screen-lock secret. App lock is not a separate encrypted vault. Notifications may reveal occasion details according to Android settings and can be delayed.
Purchases and support outside the app
If this app is offered as a paid download, Google Play handles the store transaction under Google’s policies. The app does not receive payment-card details. Messages you choose to send to our support or privacy addresses are handled separately from automatic in-app data collection. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, or unnecessary private documents in a support request.

If you choose to email us, the studio and its email provider receive the address, message, and attachments you send. Correspondence is used to respond and keep relevant support or business records, subject to applicable retention obligations. You may request deletion of correspondence through the privacy address. We cannot retrieve or remotely erase records kept only on your device; use the deletion controls described above.

We will update this policy and its date if the app’s data practices change.
