About this app
ShiftSide is an Android app presented under the Rook & Button brand. This policy describes version 1.0.0-rc2, package com.rookandbutton.shiftside. It has no user-account service or advertisements.
The app does not send your saved records, device identifiers, or usage information to developer-operated servers. It contains no advertising or analytics integration.
Data used on your device
Manually entered profile names, time zones, rotation anchors and shifts, date exceptions, preparation/commute/rest buffers, availability search settings, saved change history, archived profiles, and appearance preferences. The app uses schedules you enter to resolve shifts and time zones, compare free time, display a calendar, and show a next-shift home-screen widget. It does not read contacts, employer systems, or other calendars.

Sharing and copies you choose
You can share an availability snapshot as plain text, export a 90-day ICS file, and export or import JSON backups containing profiles and history. These actions use Android’s chosen recipient or document provider. Backups are not encrypted; text and calendar exports do not live-sync. Receiving apps, camera apps, browsers, and document providers operate under their own policies. A provider you select may synchronize files outside your device. This app does not control those independent copies.
Storage and security
App records are held in Android app-private storage. Automatic Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled. Protect your device with a secure screen lock and keep exported files in a location you trust. Ordinary backup files are not an encrypted vault.
Retention and deletion
Archived profiles remain on the device until permanently deleted. Use the app’s explicit permanent-deletion and Clear change history controls as appropriate. Clearing Android app storage or uninstalling removes private app records. External snapshots and backups remain until you delete those copies.
Additional details
The optional widget displays schedule information outside the app and refreshes when Android requests updates and after saved changes. It is not an alarm. Automatic cloud backup and Android device transfer are disabled.
Purchases and support outside the app
If this app is offered as a paid download, Google Play handles the store transaction under Google’s policies. The app does not receive payment-card details. Messages you choose to send to our support or privacy addresses are handled separately from automatic in-app data collection. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, or unnecessary private documents in a support request.

If you choose to email us, the studio and its email provider receive the address, message, and attachments you send. Correspondence is used to respond and keep relevant support or business records, subject to applicable retention obligations. You may request deletion of correspondence through the privacy address. We cannot retrieve or remotely erase records kept only on your device; use the deletion controls described above.
Changes
We will update this policy and its date if the app’s data practices change.
